FreMarq Innovations and Alpen align to expand access to high-performance curtain wall systems
Alpen thin glass technology paired with FreMarq Zero•Net™ framing supports up to R-10-level whole-assembly performance, long-term energy savings, and improved occupant comfort while remaining cost-competitive and broadly accessible across project types.
MERRILL, WI | January 26, 2026
FreMarq Innovations, a U.S.-based manufacturer of high-performance curtain wall framing systems, announced today an agreement with Alpen, a leader in advanced insulating glass technology, to support the use of Alpen’s thin glass technology within FreMarq’s Zero•Net™ patented curtain wall framing systems.
The agreement aligns two established technologies with more than a decade of proven field application to address persistent industry challenges. Center-of-glass performance assumptions often fail to reflect how glass performs once installed in a frame, while high performance is frequently viewed as requiring premium systems. Together, FreMarq and Alpen improve whole-assembly performance and help energy savings, comfort, and ROI expectations carry through from design intent to in-service performance.
High-performance façade systems are often perceived as premium solutions limited to specialized projects. The FreMarq and Alpen approach challenges that perception by making higher levels of thermal performance more accessible and affordable, delivering measurable gains in energy efficiency and occupant comfort across a wider range of building applications.
“High-performance glass delivers its full value only when the frame performs at the same level,” said Renea Frederick, President of FreMarq Innovations. “By pairing Alpen’s thin glass technology with Zero•Net™ framing, we improve the performance of the glass at the assembly level. That alignment allows projects to achieve meaningful thermal results and do so at a cost that challenges the assumption that high performance must come at a premium.”
Building on proven curtain wall practices, FreMarq’s Zero•Net™ framing systems leverage the patented FortMax™ thermal barrier to significantly reduce heat flow through the frame. This frame-first approach enhances how Alpen’s thin glass technology performs once installed and supports up to R-10-level whole-assembly performance, improved condensation resistance, and better perimeter comfort. It also remains competitive with conventional curtain wall solutions while supporting faster return on investment through reduced energy demand.
The combined system supports lower overall energy use, improved occupant comfort, and more predictable long-term performance, contributing to reduced operational energy costs over the life of the building.
“This agreement gives project teams a clearer, more achievable path to high performance,” said Andrew Zech, CEO of Alpen. “FreMarq’s frame-level approach allows our glass technology to perform as intended in installed assemblies and extends the benefits beyond center-of-glass values.”
The agreement does not limit either company’s broader market relationships, but establishes a coordinated option for architects, façade consultants, and glazing contractors seeking high-performance curtain wall assemblies that balance energy performance, constructability, affordability, and long-term value.
